Delon (Loni) has attended Highland for 28 years and has been serving as ministry assistant for 21 years. She and her husband John have been married for 26 years and they have 2 children, John-24 and Jessie-22. View Loni’s testimony below…

“Before I had a relationship with Jesus Christ I was always trying to be in control of everything and worrying about everyone’s problems and trying to fix them. I was dating a Christian my sophomore year of high school. He was always quoting John 3:16 to me and, at the time, it was the only scripture he had memorized.

One day, while I was at work, I was angry because my parents were making my teenage life difficult because I was dating a Christian and they didn’t think I needed saving from anything. I knew I needed to be saved…so right then and there I told God, “I can’t do this anymore, I need You. Please forgive me of my sins. I need You to be in charge of my life.” At that moment it felt like a ton of bricks had been lifted off my shoulders!

Since that time my life has changed. It is such a relief knowing that there is Someone bigger to handle all of my problems with the love that only Christ can have. As a mother, I constantly pray for my children to continue to grow in their own walk with Christ. I pray that you will choose to allow Jesus to come into your heart and be boss of your life.”

Loni enjoys riding with her husband on the motorcycle, going on road trips when they can. She is obsessed with bbq smokers and thinks she needs a bigger one even though John says no. So needless to say she loves to smoke meat and experiment with other smoker recipes. One of her favorite things to do is spending time with her granddaughter.
