Ken Kniskern

Ken is an experienced leader with 25+ years in technical management and HR leadership positions within the IT field, and 20 years in the ministry here in the state of Oklahoma.  During the spring you might find him out chasing and photographing tornadoes and other severe weather across the state.

Surrendered to the ministry as a student, Ken began his full-time ministerial career in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Since that time he has been a Student Pastor, Education Minister, Associate Pastor, Media & Ministry Pastor, and Worship Leader. Ken has had the extreme privilege of ministering in several churches in the state of Oklahoma, from small rural communities to the largest SBC church in our state. His graphic, web, & video design background, A/V & technical expertise, and flair for presentation design and worship leading have helped him facilitate engaging multi-generational worship experiences in those churches, and in concerts and revivals in many states and countries around the world.

Ken married his wife Mandy (an Oklahoma native) in August of 2000, and they have 2 sons – Barrick and Brendon that keep them (her) quite busy, however Ken still manages to work full-time as higher education consultant in addition to his role here at Highland, and Mandy teaches piano to about 40 children in addition to running things around the house.

Ken and Mandy celebrated 7 years at Highland in January 2020, and in addition to leading in worship each week, they also lead a marriage and family discipleship class, and are co-leading a Sunday Morning Bible Study group focusing on foundations of the family.
