DO NOT FEAR

Are fear and anxiety about the coronavirus paralyzing your friends and family? Are you wondering how this global pandemic will end? The people who lived in Bible times were no strangers to trials. But many were also well-acquainted with the character of God—a loving, protecting Father quick to console His people. He comforted them then and comforts us now.Take a few moments to soak in these passages of Scripture and let them sustain you in the days ahead.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” —John 14:27

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:6–7

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” —Psalm 46:1

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” —Deuteronomy 31:8

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” —Matthew 11:28-30

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” —Psalm 27:1

“Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing! For the Lord has comforted his people and will have compassion on his afflicted.” —Isaiah 49:13

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” —2 Timothy 1:7

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10

“You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You.” —Isaiah 26:3
